Arizona ...

... Through My Eyes - Tombstone, Arizona -

I heard Wyatt Earp say, "I heard you were in town kid, you need to check your weapons at the saloon." I am sure I heard that. Enjoy!

Arizona ...

... Through My Eyes - found in the Gila Country Historical Society Museum -

Never mind the name. My great grandfather was the Elk's Steward in 1927. Laura and I were so excited to see a picture of George W. Huntzinger (not Hunsaker) that we have not seen before.

Arizona ...

... Through My Eyes - while strolling through the Graham County Historical Society Museum in Thatcher, Arizona -

- I remember my mother having one of these ironing machines. She did not like us standing by her in fear that our fingers would get caught between the roller and the iron. She may have been right.

- On the homestead - maybe not old enough but then galvanized metal does not rust as fast - maybe my grandmother washed clothes in this tub and bathed my mother -

Arizona ...

... Through My Eyes -

- This tree may have a family connection, and it may not. It is an old tree, but is it 90 years old? This tree is placed close to where the family home was located on the Huntzinger homestead in the foothills of the Dos Cabezas Mountains. I will be happy thinking my grandparents planted this tree.

My Cousin ...

... Zinger the Magician at the Washington Renaissance Faire

- Relaxing in between performances. He is awesome and is such a great entertainer. I am two years younger that he, and I was swelled with pride as a younger brother would have been.

Pioneer Day ...

... Which is a Utah State Holiday -

- July 24th honors the arrival of the Latter-Day Saints into the Salt Lake Valley back in 1847. My great grandfather was with the first wagon company lead by Brigham Young. My great grandmother arrived with the Edward Bunker Handcart Company in Salt Lake City on October 2, 1856. A couple of quotes on this company. -

- "About 320 individuals were in the company when it began its journey from the outfitting post at Iowa City, Iowa. This company left Florence, Nebraska on July 30" (lds.org). -

- "... the companies were fitted out with hand carts. I was given charge of a Welsh company and left Iowa City June 23rd 1856... The Welsh had no experience at all and very few of them could speak English. (Bunker, Edward, Autobiography, 1894, 22-23). -
